Football match abandoned after goalkeeper injured in clash

Felixstowe and Walton UFC played against Wroxham FC on Tuesday night at home.

At around 8.15pm, the club posted on social media to alert fans that the game had been paused while an ambulance attended to a player.

Later it said: "The match has been abandoned due to an injury to the visitors' goalkeeper.

"We wish Billy a speedy recovery.

"The game will be played on a date to be arranged with free entry for all."

In a post now deleted, Felixstowe and Walton UFC said that there were "positive" updates on the two players involved following a "sickening" clash of heads at the match.
