Steelers interested in trade for talented AFC South wide receiver, per report

Trade rumors and the Pittsburgh Steelers have been going hand in hand in recent weeks, and now a new piece of information indicates which wide receiver the team is reportedly interested in.

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Steelers, along with other AFC teams, have shown trade interest in Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs.

"Colts WR Josh Downs has received interest from multiple AFC teams, including the Steelers, and while a deal is not considered likely this week, the expectation is a trade will eventually happen, per sources," Schultz wrote via X.

During his first three years in the league, Downs recorded 2,140 yards and 11 touchdowns on 198 catches. Through seven games in 2026, Downs has caught 26 passes for 307 yards while consistently finding separation. Downs requested a trade on Wednesday.

We at Steelers Wire will heavily monitor this trade situation between Downs and Pittsburgh, as updates will likely become more frequent in the coming weeks before the November 10 trade deadline.
