Troy Cooper says the prospect of facing his favourite team in the Scottish Cup is what is driving him to get Clachnacuddin as far as they can in the tournament.
Clachnacuddin are on the road in the second round on Saturday when they travel to face West of Scotland First Division outfit Bonnyton Thistle in Kilmarnock.
The Lilywhites recorded a big win in the first round when they knocked out Lowland League East club Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic with a 2-0 victory at Grant Street Park.
Striker Cooper was also part of the Clachnacuddin team which got to the third round last season before losing at Stenhousemuir 4-1.
But reaching the fourth round and having the chance to be drawn against Celtic would be Cooper’s dream matchup.
Cooper said: “That would be the dream to get Celtic, but Rangers away would be good as well as you can’t be too greedy.
“We got Stenhousemuir away in the third round last season and you are wanting an easier tie than that as they are now top of the Championship.
“But the fourth round is always the aim and whatever happens, happens.
“Since I have been here we have got to either the second or third round, so hopefully we can get to the fourth this season.”
However, Cooper says he is not looking further ahead than Saturday when they make the 191 mile trip to face Bonnyton Thistle at the Synergy Arena.
Bonnyton knocked out Lowland League East club East Stirlingshire 2-0 in the first round.
They are currently in eighth place in the West of Scotland First Division and were knocked out of the West of Scotland League Cup second round by St Patrick’s 2-1 last week.
Cooper says he knows very little about their opponents on Saturday, but is confident in their own ability to get the job done.
He said: “I have watched their highlights from their first round game against East Stirlingshire. That is all that I can go off of to be honest.
“When you don’t know these teams, you are only worrying about yourselves and see where that takes you.
“I am confident if we play like we did against Bonnyrigg and play to our strengths, I think that we should win.
“We will be travelling on the morning of the game so it will be a long day. But if we play as good as we can, we should be winning.
“But football is a funny game and we are away. But it could have been a harder draw, let’s be honest.”
Speaking about their first round win, Cooper said: “It was massive to beat Bonnyrigg, the fact they were in League Two not long ago, it was one of the toughest draws we could have got from the Lowland League.
“It was a big win as our form has been up and down with all the games that we have been playing in the KDM. It has been Saturday, Wednesday, Saturday and Tuesday.
“Beating Bonnyrigg was a win which rejuvenated us a bit. The Scottish Cup is always a big game whoever you play.”
Clachnacuddin have had a busy start to the campaign playing 14 matches in the Highland League along with six matches in the KDM Evolution Trophy as well their first round win over Invergordon in the North of Scotland Cup and Scottish Cup clash with Bonnyrigg all before November.
Cooper says it has been a relentless fixture period, but was still glad of the opportunity to play in the KDM Evolution Trophy.
He said: “I think we have played 22 games already which is over half a league season and we are only in October.
“It has been good to test yourself against these teams. But going to Clyde on a Tuesday and getting back around 3am in the morning when you have work the next day, it is hard going.
“You don’t realise that until you play in it. But it was good to test ourselves and see where we are at.
“But you do miss a lot of training because you are playing games. But it was a good learning curve.
“We have played a lot of away games and we should have a lot of home games coming up plus having a full week of training to build up to them.”
