‘How Many All-Pros Does Tom Brady Have?’ ‘Lamar (Jackson) Has Three Already’ — Radio Host Makes Case for Ravens Superstar QB to Get His Due Respect

Lamar Jackson has two MVPs, three All-Pro selections, and a 79-32 regular season record, and the argument over whether he gets enough credit for what he has built often comes up when the quarterback conversation starts.

He is set to return from an ankle injury for Sunday’s Week 8 game, coming back to a 4-3 Baltimore Ravens team that went 1-2 without him. Fox Sports Radio host Rob Parker used the timing to make his case for Jackson this week, and he reached for NFL great Tom Brady as the measuring stick.

Rob Parker Argues Lamar Jackson Is Not Getting Enough Credit

Jackson holds two MVP awards and three All-Pro selections through nine seasons in the league, a resume that Parker argued does not get framed in its proper context when the quarterback conversation comes up.

The criticism aimed at Jackson has been consistent across his career. His postseason record of 3-5 has been a regular talking point, and he came into the league with doubts about whether he could sustain success as a traditional passer. Hall of Fame executive Bill Polian famously suggested Jackson should convert to wide receiver coming out of Louisville.

During a segment on “The Odd Couple with Rob Parker & Kelvin Washington,” Parker put Jackson’s three All-Pro selections next to Brady’s career total to make the case.

“The best quarterback in the National Football League is Lamar Jackson. How many All-Pros does Tom Brady have? And he played, what, 24 years? Tom Brady had four All-Pros. Four All-Pros in a 24-year career. 23, let’s get it accurate. Four in 23,” Parker said.

While Parker cited four All-Pro selections for Brady, the former Patriots and Buccaneers quarterback actually earned three AP first-team honors in 2007, 2010 and 2017. Jackson matched that total with selections in 2019, 2023 and 2024.

Parker also brought up Jackson’s MVP record, arguing that the Ravens quarterback should have won the award for a third time. He specifically questioned the decision to give Josh Allen the 2024 MVP despite Jackson earning first-team All-Pro honors that season.

“Lamar has three already! In two-thirds less time, he already has three. He should have three MVPs. The best year he had in the National Football League didn’t give him the MVP. They gave him first-team All-Pro, but they gave Josh Allen because they felt sorry for him. The MVP went against everything that we know in the National Football League. It was terrible. Absolutely terrible. But that’s where we are,” Parker said.

While Parker acknowledged that Jackson has not always delivered perfect performances in the postseason, he argued that the quarterback has often been let down by mistakes from his teammates.

“Lamar wins, like, 70% of his games. I don’t have the exact number, close to it. It was 75 at one point. And when you think about the missteps in the playoffs, it often has something to do with somebody else…. It’s happened over and over again,” Parker said.

Parker closed by returning to Jackson’s achievements and the criticism he faced before establishing himself as one of the NFL’s top quarterbacks. He also brought up Polian’s assessment of Jackson ahead of the 2018 draft, when Polian suggested he would be better suited to playing wide receiver.

“This was the guy they said couldn’t throw the football, somehow. And Bill Polian, who’s in the Hall of Fame as a general manager, said he should be a wide receiver. That guy, who’s got three All-Pros and Tom Brady has four in 23 years? You know how hard it is to win All-Pro?” Parker said.

The quarterback is now focused on getting Baltimore back on track. Jackson addressed his ongoing ankle issue ahead of Sunday’s matchup with Buffalo and offered an update on how he is feeling.

“Yeah, I still do, but it’s bearable,” Jackson said when asked about the ankle pain. “I’m always excited when I’m able to be back on the field with my guys. Put us in the win column, help us get another W. That’s what I’m ready to do.”

Despite the injury concerns and Baltimore’s inconsistent start, Jackson’s individual numbers remain among the best in the league. His performance through four games has placed him near the top of PFN’s Quarterback Impact Metric.

His 87.0 QB Impact Grade ranks 2nd in the league. He has thrown for 967 yards and six touchdowns against just one interception while completing 70.8% of his passes, ranking first in both success rate and ANY/A, and has added 144 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown for the 4-3 Ravens.

Baltimore faces Buffalo at Highmark Stadium on Sunday, November 1.
