Oxford 2-1 Wigan

Kai Andrews struck a 76th-minute winner as Oxford beat bottom club Wigan 2-1 at the Kassam Stadium after Latics were reduced to 10 men.

Centre-half Michal Helik shot the U's in front a minute before half-time when he fired home right-footed after Joe Whitworth parried his initial volley from Tyler Goodrham's cross.

Substitute Christian Saydee hit a stunning 69th-minute equaliser from 35 yards to bring Wigan level - from their first shot on target in the match.

Saydee rode one challenge then unleashed a ferocious long-range shot which flew low past Jamie Cumming at his left post.

Latics were down to 10 just three minutes later, though, after Fraser Murray was shown a straight red card for a dangerous challenge on Jack Currie.

And they paid the price as Siriki Dembele picked out Andrews who fired low into the bottom left corner from 14 yards.

Dembele had caused Wigan a lot of problems in a first half Oxford dominated, and Whitworth saved from Mark Harris early in the game, and from Dembele late on.
