Rangers bounce game details with Premiership rival emerge as result and involved players revealed

RANGERS and Dundee battled it out under the lights at Dens Park on Saturday night.

And they were at it once again in a closed-door game TODAY at Auchenhowie with the Dark Blues defeating Derek McInnes‘ men, according to the Daily Record.

The bounce game came just days after Rangers’ 2-2 draw with Dundee at Dens Park

We told you earlier today how the Premiership duo would go head to head for the second time in a matter of days – in a game designed to give recovering players and those on the fringes vital minutes on the grass.

Now, it is reported that Steven Pressley and his troops ran out 2-1 winners in the bounce match.

Liam Kelly reportedly faced two penalties in the match – saving one – with Charlie Reilly and one of two trialists on show for Dundee on target.

Ross McCausland, who finds himself well down the pecking order in Govan, is said to have netted for Rangers.

Today’s encounter followed Saturday’s 2-2 draw between the pair in the City of Discovery.

That share of the spoils brought Rangers’ winning run of results to an end.

Celtic‘s demolition of Hearts on the Sunday means Martin O’Neill and his troops have opened up a four point gap at the top.

The Hoops face another Europa League midweek night before Premiership action at the weekend.

Rangers are out of Europe meaning it is just domestic matters for them with St Johnstone next up at Ibrox on Saturday.

Celtic face a trip to Easter Road 24 hours later to face bottom club Hibs after taking on Celta Vigo on Thursday night.

Both then feature in a blockbuster midweek Premiership card next Wednesday night with Celtic hosting Dundee United and Rangers facing a trip to face Hearts at Tynecastle.
