Liam Delap has had good and bad moments during his first seven games, which has divided fans over their early verdict of the striker.
Narrative around Liam Delap has been getting more and more concerning for Nottingham Forest as the season progresses, with consistently poor performances. Delap’s worst came against Ipswich last weekend when he had no shots on target, compared to his three fouls committed.

What have YOU made about Liam Delap's start to life at Nottingham Forest?! BIG things were expected…
Forest supporters were asked what they’ve made of Delap’s start to life in a Forest shirt. There have been plenty of verdicts given, and Forest fans actually appear to be quite split.
On the one hand, there is the feeling that he has really struggled at Forest this season. User @jonathan.gorrie stated this, referencing the Ipswich performance being a tough watch, but that he isn’t sure Delap is all that good anyway.
“Not sure he’s ever going to be THAT good but he – at least had – something about him during his time at Ipswich!”, he wrote.

Another fan also wasn’t pleased at all with Delap for his struggles this season, insisting that Glasner has a better option sat on the bench.
@andy007dino said that, “He really needs to buck his ideas up and start putting the ball in the net. If not, put Wood back on; he can score.” This shows that Delap’s place in the squad really isn’t safe right now.

Another fan, @ab4076178, even coined the term “Deflop” for Forest’s record forward. However, this isn’t a sentiment shared by all supporters.
Aside from his finishing, there has been plenty to like about Delap’s game for Forest, with @flow77craig pointing out the positives and blaming the team for the striker struggling.
“His general performance has been good, bullying defenders, he’s just missing, most importantly goals, but watch this space, he won’t be the last striker to start slowly, but I think it’s a team issue.”

Other Forest fans have looked past his early struggles this season, backing Delap up and claiming they have faith that he will come good. @christianthackham told Delap that he is going to be a hit in the near future.
“Lift your head up, boy. There’s always a red shirt with you somewhere. Slow down, stay frosty. When you run at the opposition, they’re scared. Use your teammates more. We know your worth, that’s why you’re on Trentside. Relax, and the onion will burst wide open.”

Finally, @twlmurphy made an exciting prediction for Delap. “Delap looks good to me. He collects the ball, drives forward, and has a shot. He bullies defenders. He’s going to score a hat-trick in a moment.”
It would be logical to assume that at some stage, Delap is going to find the net if he keeps getting decent chances handed to him on a plate. It might only take one goal to change his fortunes.
