Another week in the NFL, another round of injuries.
Several key players, including Davante Adams, Romeo Doubs and Terry McLaurin suffered significant injuries in Week 6 that will sideline them for an extended period. At least fantasy football managers know they need to find immediate replacements there.
The guys who are questionable, but could play this week are the ones who are most concerning right now.
Here are some of the most prominent players dealing with nagging ailments or returning from major issues that will impact fantasy managers most in Week 7. As always, keep an eye on the latest developments leading up to kickoff with our player notes page.
Jackson is still technically day-to-day, although coach Jesse Minter did say on Monday that the former MVP could "potentially" return to practice this week. He has yet to take the practice field since spraining his left ankle in a Week 4 win over the Tennessee Titans. If Jackson can't go on Sunday against the Bengals, backup Tyler Huntley will make his third consecutive start.
The Bucs are stil preparing for rookie Jalon Daniels to start this Sunday at Carolina. But the ever-insistent Mayfield did take part in Wednesday's practice session while wearing a glove to protect the injured thumb on his passing hand. The big question is whether Mayfield will be able to hold the football securely under game conditions.
No news is ... good news? Barkley has missed back-to-back games with a hamstring injury, but there's been no update from the team on his progress so far this week. The Eagles did make a roster move, cutting Jaydon Blue and Carson Steele (who was injured in Sunday's game), and adding Elijah Mitchell to the practice squad. Dameon Pierce got all the running back carries in Week 6 so he would be the primary ballcarrier again if Barkley can't suit up.
Wednesday could be pivotal for Love (ankle) in his bid to return to the field for Week 7. He was scheduled to do some running on Tuesday and then take part in practice the following day. Bam Knight and Tyler Allgeier have been splitting the backfield duties in Love's absence, with only limited success.
The Browns are hoping Judkins' injured ankle will allow him to play on Sunday against the Titans. He missed Week 6, but hadn't really shown the same explosiveness he did at the end of last season. Coach Todd Monken said he's "optimistic" Judkins will be back on the practice field soon. Meanwhile, backfield mate Dylan Sampson (knee) was designated to return from injured reserve last week.
Monangai (toe/thumb) sat out Week 6 and was listed as a non-participant in Tuesday's walk-through. If he isn't able to at least take part in Wednesday's practice, there would seem to be little chance he'd be able to play against the Patriots on Thursday. Roschon Johnson, who had 85 total yards and a TD vs. the Atlanta Falcons, would once again be the primary backup to D'Andre Swift.
Similarly, Brown was a limited participant in Tuesday's practice report after returning unimpressively from a four-game absence on Sunday. He told reporters his ankle was "feeling good," but didn't mention anything about his hands (which dropped three passes and fumbled once against the Jets). For now, we'll just chalk it up to being a little rusty.
Coming off the Chiefs' bye, Rice sat out Week 6 with hamstring and knee injuries. Coach Andy Reid said the speedy wideout has been in the team's facility every day working to get healthy again, but "we’ll have to see" about his progress this week in practice. Xavier Worthy led the team last week with seven receptions for 73 yards, with backup WRs Cyrus Allen and Jalen Royals catching two passes each.
Inacitve in Week 5 due to a sore hamstring, Addison has been able to rest over the team's bye week. A quick return to the practice field will be a good indication of how much he'll be able to help the Vikings' passing attack and take some of the pressure off star receiver Justin Jefferson.
