The Golden State Warriors have signed, drafted, and traded for players from nearly every U.S. state and many countries around the world. From Alaska to Wyoming and Austria to Zaire, the Warriors have a strong history of seeking out talent necessary for NBA success.

Since their beginnings in the Basketball Association of America (a precursor to the NBA) when they got their start as the team representing Philadelphia before they made their move to the West Coast, the organization has consistently pursued talent from a broad range of sources.

For this installment of our series taking stock of the birthplace of every Golden State player to suit up for the franchise, let's take a look at every player from Alabama who has played for the Warriors.

Our focus in this article is DeMarcus Cousins. An alum of LeFlore Magnet (Mobile, Alabama) high school, he was picked up with the fifth overall selection of the 2010 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings.

The Mobile, Alabama native played the first 7 seasons of his pro career with the Kings. He also played for the New Orleans Pelicans before he signed with the Dubs in 2018. His stay with the team lasted until he signed with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2019.

During his time suiting up for the Warriors, DeMarcus Cousins put up 16.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.5 rebounds per game.
