Lauri Markkanen Day-To-Day With Sprained Right Wrist
Lauri Markkanen Day-To-Day With Sprained Right Wrist

The Utah Jazz listed Lauri Markkanen as day to day Tuesday with a sprained right wrist. Markkanen exited Monday’s home loss to the Memphis Grizzlies in the first half after suffering the injury.

The team is hopeful Markkanen will avoid a lengthy absence.

Markkanen’s status carries added weight given Utah’s thinning frontcourt. Jaren Jackson Jr. tore the MCL in his right knee in the same game and will be re-evaluated in six weeks. Sources told ESPN that Jackson faces a six- to eight-week timeline.

Starting center Jusuf Nurkic has yet to appear this season as he is recovering from a partial plantar plate tear of the second toe on his right foot. A re-evaluation is scheduled for early November.
