Justin Gaethje was quick to remind one ‘casual’ fan of what he did to Paddy Pimblett when the pair fought.
While filming a golf video with Barstool Sports, Gaethje encountered a blogger who has limited knowledge of the UFC. He noted that the only fighter he is a big fan of is Pimblett, whom the lightweight champion fought for interim gold back in January.
Arman Tsarukyan seems undeniable, but Ilia Topuria has recently ruffled feathers👀
Gaethje and Pimblett’s five-round war was one of the fights of the year, with many fans arguing that the brutal and bloody battle was each man’s most entertaining ever. The American won by Unanimous Decision, and went on to dethrone Ilia Topuria at the White House in June.
When he’s not putting on classics inside the octagon, Justin Gaethje likes to hit the links and play a round of golf. This is well-known to fight fans, and Barstool Sports decided to bring him out for their ‘Internet Invitational’.
While out on the course, an influencer who goes by the nickname ‘Short Game King’ told Gaethje that he is a ‘casual UFC guy’ but loves ‘Paddy The Pimblett‘. Despite being such a fan of the Liverpool native, he seemed to get his name wrong, and also managed to miss his fight for UFC gold back in January.
Gaethje had to remind ‘SGK’ that not only had he fought Pimblett back in January, but he ‘beat him up’. This seemed to upset the influencer, who reminded the champion that he ‘doesn’t really watch UFC’.
“I thought you were American?” Gaethje asked in a comical moment. “What? You don’t want an American to win over that f—ing guy?”
When the influencer changed his tune and said he would root for Gaethje ‘if he knew they were playing’, he had to be reminded that “I didn’t play him, I dog walked that motherf—er.”
