In the most recent episode of WWE SmackDown on Friday night, Michael Cole announced that Baron Corbin will be sidelined for an indefinite period due to a punt kick delivered by "The American Nightmare," Cody Rhodes, during last week’s show.

Corbin was taken out by Rhodes after their match when "The Viper," Randy Orton, interfered, causing a disqualification. Following Orton's interference, Rhodes managed to take him down, setting up for his famous kick. However, Corbin attacked Rhodes, prompting Orton to retreat, which led to Rhodes delivering the punt kick to Corbin's head.

As of now, there is no information on when Corbin might return to television. He made his comeback to WWE in July and won the WWE United States Championship from Trick Williams at SummerSlam, but subsequently lost it at Sunday Night’s Main Event.
