Leeds Rhinos

Hunslet RLFC have further strengthened their pack ahead of the new campaign with the signing of highly-rated young front-rower Jordon Baker on a 12-month contract.

The explosive prop makes the permanent switch to the South Leeds Stadium from Super League side Hull FC, where he previously established himself as a marquee talent within their elite development pathway.

During his time in the Black and Whites’ system, Jordon Baker earned rave reviews for his relentless impact off the bench and through the middle, culminating in an Academy Player of the Year nomination.

The acquisition provides the young enforcer with a fantastic platform to transition into regular senior rugby league within the competitive Championship.

Jordon commented on his move to West Yorkshire, saying: “Signing with Hunslet is a massive opportunity for me.

“I’m ready to step out of reserve-grade rugby and prove what I can do at the competitive senior level. Hunslet is a club with a massive history and passionate fans, and I can’t wait to run out at South Leeds Stadium and give everything for the shirt.”

Hunslet head coach Kyle Trout said: “Jordon is a young man with a huge ceiling. He has come through a fantastic system at Hull FC, training alongside full-time professionals, and he is desperate to test himself in the senior game.

“He plays with real intent, sets a strong physical platform, and is a brilliant fit for the culture we are building here at South Leeds Stadium.”
