"There are so many pubs for fans to choose from, but they come here". Located down the road from one of London's most iconic stadiums lies a pub whose history is tied to one of the biggest clubs in the country.
A short walk away from the former Highbury stadium, The Gunners Pub on Blackstock Road stands proudly. In the glory years of Arsenal, when the team called Highbury home, this pub was part of the matchday ritual for fans, who would stop there before the game.
20 years on from the team moving to Emirates Stadium, a 10-minute walk away, the pub is still entrenched with the club and its fans. Whether it is hosting over 400 passionate fans or partnering with the team to host events, The Gunners Pub has always been a big part of Arsenal.

Eddie Altun is the manager at The Gunners Pub, and he is proud to be part of its iconic legacy and to run it. The pub is independently owned by Eddie's childhood friend. Eddie told MyLondon: "The community always comes together at this pub. This is the place for Arsenal fans to come. [When we won the league] it was crazy. They were chanting and playing football.
"There are so many pubs in the area, but the location here, with Highbury just there, the fact we are called The Gunners, there's no other pub called that."
The pub is hard to miss on Blackstock Road with its black exterior, but it is the inside where it shines. Arsenal memorabilia lines the walls, posters and pictures of iconic players grace the beer garden, and classic shirts from the different eras make for a trip down memory lane.

Other popular pubs in the area, such as The Tollington or The Faltering Fullback, are alternatives, but The Gunners Pub holds its own. The club will sometimes use the pub in its campaigns; one recent example was its use of the pub to debut its new partnership with Oakley Meta. The event saw runners descend on the pub and run along the parade route that millions of Arsenal fans lined during the summer.
"We get big crowds here all the time. If it's for the ladies' game or the men's. [seeing Arsenal choose us] for events like this, it makes us so proud to know they've chosen us. There are so many options, but there's no place like ours. We believe the club knows that as well.

"We try to keep our prices low where we can. We love how the community comes here. I feel like we are one of the most famous ones in the area."
An Arsenal experience isn't complete without visiting The Gunners Pub, which makes the moment feel more special for Eddie and the team.

On matchdays, the pub can hold up to 450 people, with every inch of the pub filled with fans eager to soak in the atmosphere. The pub even has its own Gunners Lager, underscoring its dedication to being the pub of choice for Arsenal fans.
On Google, one reviewer wrote: " If you're looking for a proper football pub with an electric atmosphere for major matches, The Gunners Pub is definitely the place to be."
Eddie expects the pub to be 'rammed' this Sunday as both the men's and women's teams are playing, with the men away at Liverpool while the women host Aston Villa.
