Fulham finally get result their performances have deserved

Fulham crest

Fulham finally got their first win of the season under Alvaro Arbeloa but they've maybe been a bit unlucky that it's taken this long.

While results are ultimately all that matters, the stats below aren't those of a team that should be at the bottom of the table.

Their only real problem has been taking their chances - only Tottenham and Forest have a worse shot conversion rate.

All for of their four losses - and now their only win - have been by the odd goal, which shows they have been in games.

Fulham's underlying metrics show they are creating high-quality chances (ranked 8th in expected goals at 1.53) and taking plenty of shots (ranked 6th with 14.7 per game), but poor finishing (ranked 18th in shot conversion at 6.8%) has left them with actual goals lower than expected (1.00 per game, ranked 15th=).
