Camilo Duran makes Celtic title vow after 'huge' admission

The Colombian striker is preparing for his first visit to Easter Road since joining Celtic and has made it clear that a win is the only target for Martin O'Neill's side.

Celtic return to league action following their 2-1 Europa League defeat to Celta Vigo on Thursday night.

Duran said the focus has quickly shifted towards Hibs. He told CelticPlayer: "We couldn’t get the three points we wanted, but now we have to focus on Sunday.

"We want to be champions, so we can’t afford to drop points. We’ll go out there looking for all three points."

The summer signing has taken on the responsibility at the head of Celtic’s attack and is determined to continue making an impact as he targets mpore goals. "As everyone knows, that’s my position, and I enjoy playing there," Duran said.

"I know it’s a huge responsibility, but I’ll always try to give my best for this badge."

Duran is competing with Kasper Hogh for opportunities in attack but insists there is a healthy relationship between the pair. "It helps us a lot," he explained.

"When he doesn’t play, he always encourages me. When I don’t play, I always encourage him.

"It’s healthy competition, and whoever plays will always give their best."

The Colombian has also enjoyed playing alongside Callum Osmand, who scored twice on his first senior start in Celtic’s victory over Hearts last weekend. He’s a good person and a good player, too," Duran said.

"I always enjoy playing alongside him."
