Ousmane Dembele, along with Nuno Mendes, was given the weekend off after the international break. His team beat Le Mans without him, then the France star was fit and ready to face Manchester City in the Champions League in midweek.

After the game, Dembele joked that he might go on holiday more often, given how well it had worked out, and these comments were put to Luis Enrique in his press conference today.

“He’s the boss! He wants a vacation if we give him a vacation. So he’ll get a vacation. But he jokes around all the time,” the PSG boss said with a twinkle in his eye.

“I love the way he lives football and his passion for football. It’s a joke, clearly, but I’m always open to giving the players what they want.”

PSG’s ability to rest players in Ligue 1 games is giving them a huge advantage over their Champions League rivals.
