The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has conducted a mandatory integrity briefing for players and officials of the national U17 women’s team, the Flamingos, ahead of the 2026 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.

The briefing, completed on Wednesday by the NFF Integrity Unit, was aimed at protecting the team against match manipulation and ensuring that players and officials understand how to identify, reject and report attempts to influence the outcome of matches.

The session highlighted the risks associated with match-fixing, the tactics used by individuals involved in manipulating matches, and the consequences for players and officials found guilty of participating in such activities.

Participants were also warned against betting on matches and sharing confidential information that could be exploited for betting-related corruption.

The briefing covered the recognition of approaches by match-fixers, the prohibition of betting and the disclosure of inside information, confidential reporting channels available around the clock, and the sanctions for involvement in match manipulation.

The exercise forms part of the integrity measures for the 2026 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, which include betting-monitoring systems, intelligence sharing with law enforcement agencies and continuous integrity support throughout the competition.

The NFF reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on match manipulation, stressing the importance of safeguarding the credibility of football competitions and ensuring that players and officials uphold the highest standards of conduct.
