Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) head coach Luis Enrique has expressed his disappointment with Vitinha’s 14th-place finish in the 2026 Ballon d’Or rankings.
The PSG boss voiced his displeasure ahead of his side’s Ligue 1 clash with Le Havre on Friday, October 30, as they target their sixth win in nine league matches this season.
The Portugal midfielder finished 14th in the voting, while Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane claimed the award, becoming the first Englishman in 25 years to win the prestigious honour.
Vitinha had finished third in the 2025 Ballon d’Or rankings, behind Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal and eventual winner Ousmane Dembele, who was also his teammate at PSG.
“It’s a real pleasure to have a player with such technical and physical ability. His level is incredible.”
“We’re very pleased to have a player of his calibre, even though he wasn’t ranked as highly as he deserves to be in the Ballon d’Or rankings.”
PSG had 10 players included in the 30-man shortlist for this year’s award.
