CAF Women’s Champions League: Ampem Darkoa Ladies thrash USFAS Bamako 5-1 in Group B opener

Ghanaian champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies made a sensational start to their CAF Women’s Champions League campaign after recording an emphatic 5-1 victory over Mali’s USFAS Bamako in their Group B opener on Monday, November 2, 2026.

The WAFU-B representatives recovered from an early setback to produce an impressive attacking display at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia, Egypt, securing all three points in convincing fashion.

USFAS took the lead in the 11th minute through Oumou Kone, briefly putting the Ghanaian side on the back foot.

However, Ampem Darkoa responded positively and restored parity in the 28th minute when Angelina Yeboah found the back of the net.

The Ghanaian side completed the turnaround just three minutes later, with Patricia Agyei scoring in the 31st minute to give her team a 2-1 advantage heading into the half-time break.

Ampem Darkoa maintained their attacking momentum after the restart and continued to trouble the Malian defence.

Yeboah grabbed her second goal of the afternoon in the 79th minute to extend the lead before Beline Nyarkoh added a fourth four minutes later, putting the result beyond doubt.

Nancy Amoh completed the rout in stoppage time, capping an outstanding performance from the Ghanaian champions with a fifth goal.

The comprehensive victory gives Ampem Darkoa Ladies an excellent start to their Group B campaign as they seek to make a strong impression in Africa's premier women's club competition.

Having recovered from an early deficit to score five unanswered goals, the Ghanaian outfit will take considerable confidence from their opening performance as they turn their attention to their remaining group-stage fixtures.
