Dutch striker Myron Boadu delivered an impressive individual performance, scoring twice for Watford, but his efforts were not enough to prevent the Hornets from suffering a 3-2 defeat against Norwich City in the English Championship on Saturday.
Boadu gave Watford an early advantage at Carrow Road, opening the scoring in the 10th minute after being set up by Iker Bravo.
The forward doubled Watford’s lead in the 27th minute, finishing brilliantly after receiving a pass from Mattie Pollock to put the visitors in a commanding position.
Watford appeared comfortable heading into the half-time break with a two-goal advantage, but Norwich produced a remarkable second-half response to turn the contest around.
Ben Chrisene reduced the deficit in the 54th minute before Anthony Musaba restored parity in the 62nd minute, capitalising on Norwich’s growing attacking momentum.
Paris Maghoma completed the comeback in the 71st minute, finishing off an opportunity created by Mathias Kvistgaarden to hand the hosts all three points.
Despite Boadu’s impressive brace, Watford were unable to withstand Norwich’s second-half resurgence, extending their disappointing run under pressure.
The defeat leaves Watford with more questions to answer as they struggle to find consistency in the Championship, while Norwich celebrate back-to-back victories.
