TP Mazembe host Club Africain on Saturday in the first leg of their second-round qualifying tie for the CAF Champions League, with both clubs seeking a return to the group stage.
The match will be played at Stade TP Mazembe in Lubumbashi, with kick-off scheduled for 15:00 local time and 15:00 in Paris. It will begin at 14:00 in Kinshasa and Tunis.
No broadcaster has been announced in France. In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the game is expected to be shown on Canal+, while viewers in Tunisia will be able to watch it on beIN Sports Mena 1 or the Diwan Sport platform.
The tie brings together two sides aiming to revive their continental fortunes. TP Mazembe missed out on the group stage last season after failing to finish in a qualifying position in the 2024-2025 Congolese championship. The Lubumbashi club, known as the Corbeaux, are now attempting to return after a year away.
Club Africain have been waiting even longer for a place in the competition’s final phase. Their last appearance in the group stage came in the 2018-2019 season.
TP Mazembe progressed past Medeama in the opening round after winning both legs against the Ghanaian side. A late goal from Lise Ntumba gave the Congolese club a 1-0 victory away from home, before they completed the job with a 3-1 win in Lubumbashi.
Patrick Mwaungulu scored twice in the second leg, while Kazema Baso added the other goal for the Lushois.
Club Africain eliminated Mali’s Djoliba after securing a 2-2 draw in Bamako. The Tunisian side had taken a narrow 1-0 lead in the first leg and held on to it across the tie.
Sadok Kadida, who scored in Tunisia, was also on target in the return match, alongside Taddeus Nkeng, as Club Africain secured their place in the next round.
The clubs last met in the group stage during the 2019-2020 season. TP Mazembe recorded a commanding 8-0 victory in Lubumbashi, before the return fixture in Rades ended goalless at 0-0.
