The Volta River Authority (VRA) will return to the tennis court on Saturday, October 24, 2026, to defend its title at the University of Ghana Corporate Tennis Championship.
GOIL Ghana, Stanbic Bank Ghana and the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority are set to challenge for the trophy.
The championship starts at 8 a.m. at the University of Ghana Tennis Court, with the corporate teams competing for supremacy.
VRA heads into the competition as defending champions after an impressive performance in the inaugural 2025 edition, where the team defeated GOIL in the final to secure the title.
In that final, VRA won both doubles matches, taking the first 9-4 and the second 9-5 to seal the championship without a deciding singles match. The two victories demonstrated VRA's strength in doubles play.
The 2026 edition presents another opportunity for participating companies to challenge the reigning champions. VRA will want to repeat the form and team spirit that secured them the trophy the previous year, while their opponents will be determined to break their defence and dethrone the champions.
Beyond the competition, the championship provides a platform for corporate institutions to encourage healthy lifestyles among employees, strengthen professional relationships and build camaraderie through sport.
The University of Ghana Corporate Tennis Championship is powered by the University of Ghana Sports and Wellness Directorate and RITE Sports Services.
