Ghana Sports Fund Administrator Dr David Kofi Wuaku has pledged to support grassroots sports development across Ghana, while Ghana’s Ambassador to Hungary and Slovakia, Dr Kwame Ampofo, is exploring opportunities to connect young Ghanaian footballers to Hungary.
The two made the commitments after being honoured by Peki Paramount Chief Deiga Kwadzo Dei XII for their contributions to society.
Dr Wuaku said his commitment to sports development extends beyond his hometown, stressing the need to identify and nurture talent in communities across the country.
“Wherever we identify talent, whether in a city, town, or village, we must be ready to nurture and support it,” he said.
Dr Ampofo disclosed plans to engage a Hungarian coach to assess local football talent and explore opportunities for promising players in Budapest.
He also said he was considering opportunities for local sports personnel to pursue studies in sports administration at Hungarian universities.
The initiatives, if implemented, could create pathways for young athletes and sports professionals to access international exposure, training and education.
Five other individuals were also honoured by the traditional authority.
