Serbia to host match against Germany without fans

Berlin, Oct 22. (dpa/ GNA) – Serbia will have to play their Nations League match against Germany in Belgrade behind closed doors due to racist and discriminatory behaviour by their fans.

The ban was made official by European football ruling body UEFA on Thursday.

Germany fans who had requested tickets were informed by the German Football Federation that they can’t attend the match on November 13.

The sanctions were handed following racist and discriminatory incidents during Serbia’s most recent Nations League matches against Greece and the Netherlands.

In addition, the federation received a fine of €50,000 ($56,060).
