Leicester City made it back-to-back wins by beating Bromley 4-0 last night.

Leicester completely dominated Bromley and probably should’ve won by a much bigger margin at the Copperjax Community Stadium.

Sammy Braybrooke was the star of the show as he registered a hat-trick of assists, and Will Alves also earned much of the plaudits for his performance at right wing-back.

John Lundstram was superb, too, but there was one Foxes star who really went under the radar despite an immense showing.

Caleb Okoli’s superb stats vs Bromley

Caleb Okoli has been heavily criticised this season as he’s made a number of individual mistakes, so many raised their eyebrows when he started against Doncaster and Bromley this evening.

But Okoli proved his doubters wrong as he produced a masterclass at the back, winning virtually every duel in the air and playing out from the back with confidence.

According to Sofascore, the 25-year-old completed 92% of his passes and made a quite staggering 43 carries.

Okoli also made 13 defensive contributions and was crucial in City keeping a clean sheet – their second of the season in League One.

  • 90 minutes
  • 121 touches
  • 92% pass accuracy
  • 43 carries
  • 13 defensive contributions
  • 8 clearances
  • 7 recoveries
  • 5/7 aerial duels won
  • 3 interceptions
  • 1 key pass

Okoli was helped by Bromley’s poor press, but he still picked the right passes and actually made one key pass, so on another day, he could’ve come away with an assist.

Martin has now found a settled back three in Okoli, Harry Souttar and Warren O’Hora, so hopefully with more game time together, they’ll be able to keep more clean sheets.

The next test for the aforementioned trio will be when the opposition high presses and applies pressure on the ball from minute one – that’s still a slight concern.

Leicester return to action on Saturday afternoon as they take on Jack Wilshere’s Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.
