The stopgap coach of the Porcupine Warriors feels his side's pulsating one-all away draw against the Miners is not the true reflection of the match outcome given his charges performance over the encounter at the end of the contest

Asante Kotoko interim manager Hamza Obeng has said that their 1-1 away stalemate against FC AshantiGold is not a fair result as he insists his side should have won the game following their performance during the clash on Matchday 8 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

The record Ghanaian league holders had to put in a spirited performance to settle for a pulsating draw game against the elite division newbies at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium after Patrick Asiedu's 65th-minute strike cancelled that of Samuel Fosu Boateng's 41st-minute opener to ensure the share of the spoils between both teams at the end of the high-tension showdown.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, the Baba Yara Sports Stadium campaigners interim manager has expressed his dissatisfaction about the outcome of the game as he feels his side should have won the three maximum points at stake over the encounter.

''It’s not a fair result. For us we started well, from building from behind and building the play but at some part we missed our way. At halftime we talked to the players, and in the second half we started playing better. They controlled the build-up from behind and created chances. It’s better drawing than losing. So now we need to prepare and make sure we go all out to pick three points in our next match.''

Hamza Obeng and his troops will be welcoming the 2025/26 GPL Champions Medeama SC in Kumasi for their next Ghana Premier League fixture on Sunday.
