Twenty referees from the Ghana Football Association’s Catch Them Young programme have been chosen to officiate at the 2026 U17 Colts Regional Champions Cup.
The tournament, sponsored by KIVO and JLAB, will be held at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram from November 8-15, 2026.
The selection includes 10 Centre Referees and 10 Assistant Referees, with representatives drawn from all 10 football regions. The appointments underline the Association’s aim of developing young officials across the country.
The selected referees will work under the supervision of a Technical and Fitness team led by Alex Kotey, who will serve as HoR/Technical, and Joseph Keney Padi, the Fitness Instructor.
The team also includes Daniel Quaye, Deputy HoD; Paul Dosu, Technical Instructor; Jones Akubiem, from the Referees Committee; and Louisa Amanor, Technical Instructor.
Catch Them Young is a central part of the GFA’s refereeing strategy. The programme is intended to identify, educate and develop promising young referees before they progress towards officiating in the elite leagues and with the national teams.
The 2026 U17 Colts Regional Champions Cup will feature the 10 Regional Colts Champions, who will compete for national supremacy.
