A few days after getting off to a perfect start in their EHF Euro 2028 qualifying campaign by setting a record for goals scored in a single match against Lithuania (48-26), Croatia rounded off a perfect week in Finland on Saturday afternoon. Never under threat, the World Championship runners-up did the job in the first half, going into the break eight goals ahead (30': 12–20).

In the second half, Dagur Sigurdsson’s men maintained the pace, with two goals from Mateo Maras in particular, to secure a second consecutive victory (25-35) and confirm provisional top spot in Group 1 – ahead of Luc Steins’ Netherlands clash away to Lithuania on Sunday.
