This was only the second time that France Football, the organiser of these prestigious football awards, has presented the trophy for the best young female talent. That means the Barça midfielder is still the only player ever to have won it. A 100% success rate for Vicky López and FC Barcelona!
The 20-year-old Madrid native receives the award after an outstanding 2025/26 campaign. She made 45 appearances for Barça, including 31 starts, establishing herself as a key player in Pere Romeu's plans. With 12 goals and 13 assists, she produced the kind of numbers that put her firmly in contention for the award once again.
Her individual performances played a vital role in Barça's historic quadruple last season, as the team claimed all four trophies on offer: Liga F, the Copa de la Reina, the UEFA Women's Champions League and the Spanish Super Cup. Women's football was painted blaugrana once again, with López playing a major part in that success.
The Madrid-born midfielder has thus been recognised once more as one of the brightest talents in world football. Barça's number 19 continues to demonstrate that she represents both the present and the future of FC Barcelona.
Now in her fifth season at the club, she looks certain to keep delighting fans with her exceptional technique, close control, dribbling and passing. A complete footballer with an extraordinarily bright future.
