Medical updates on Eric and Kounde
Medical updates on Eric and Kounde

A couple of setbacks for FC Barcelona. First team player Eric Garcia has a right thigh injury and his recovery time is estimated at three to four weeks. Additionally, first team player Jules Kounde has a left ankle sprain and will miss the PSG game. His evolution will determine his availability for the Clásico against Real Madrid on 25 October.

The Catalan defender came on in the second half against Betis to replace Gerard Martín. The number 24 had a prominent role in the final part of the match, scoring to make it 2-4, with the team well on the way to the three points. However, Eric was unable to finish the match due to physical discomfort and left the pitch ten minutes before full time, leaving the blaugranes a player down for the final stretch. French defender Kounde started the match and felt physical discomfort after the final whistle.
