Vision FC coach, Burton Asare Wilson, has praised the technical quality of Port City following their goalless draw in a Premier League encounter at the Nii Adjei Kraku Sports Complex last Saturday.
Port City dominated large spells of the game and created several scoring opportunities but were denied by an impressive performance from Vision goalkeeper Godwin Ametefe, who kept his side in the contest with a series of crucial saves.
Speaking after the match, Wilson admitted that his side were fortunate to escape with a point, despite playing at home, and expressed satisfaction with the result given how the game unfolded.
“It’s a home game and we were supposed to get three points, but if you look critically at the way the game went, as a technical person, I think it is good we got a draw,” he said.
The Vision FC coach acknowledged that Port City were the better side on the day and credited Ametefe for his outstanding performance in preventing the visitors from claiming all three points.
“Our opponents were a bit ahead of us, but credit to our goalkeeper. He saved us and I think going home with one point is good,” he added.
Wilson further explained that his initial tactical approach did not work during the opening 15 minutes, forcing him to make adjustments to contain Port City's attacking threat.
He said the changes helped Vision gradually find their feet in the game, although they also created some opportunities which they failed to convert.
The coach also praised Port City's attacking players for their pace and movement, admitting that his defenders had to work hard to keep them at bay.
“They came well and you could see that they had pacy attacking players and we needed to deal with it, so credit to my defensive line players and I'm happy,” he concluded.
