Al Ahly’s women’s football team secured a dominant 4-0 victory over Wadi Degla on Friday, extending their undefeated run in the ninth round of the Egyptian league. The match, held at the club’s stadium in New Cairo, saw the hosts maintain control throughout both halves to solidify their standing in the domestic competition.
Nadine Ghazi opened the scoring in the 11th minute. The goal followed an individual effort by Nour Youssef, who bypassed a Wadi Degla defender on the right flank before delivering a cross into the penalty area. After an initial attempt by the defense to clear the ball, Ghazi connected with the loose ball to find the back of the net.
The hosts doubled their lead in the 20th minute. Again, Youssef orchestrated the play, dribbling past the opposition’s defense on the right wing to send a precise cross into the box. Katherine Nagadya met the delivery and converted the chance, bringing the score to 2-0.
Ashraqat Adel added a third goal in the 31st minute, capitalizing on a cross from Habiba Essam with a powerful header. This sequence effectively closed the first half with Al Ahly holding a commanding three-goal advantage.
In the second half, Essam secured the final goal of the match in the 54th minute. Following persistent pressure inside the penalty area from Ava Casset, the ball reached Essam, who struck a firm shot past the Wadi Degla goalkeeper to finalize the 4-0 scoreline.
Al Ahly’s starting lineup featured Esraa El-Saqqa in goal, with a defensive line of Noura Khaled, Rodina Abdel Rasoul, Sarah Khaled, and Ashraqat Adel. The midfield consisted of Lolo Nasr, Katherine Nagadya, Habiba Essam, and Nour Youssef, while Ava Casset and Nadine Ghazi led the attack.
The team is managed by head coach Ahmed Ramadan, supported by a technical staff that includes general coach Sarah Abdullah, goalkeeper coach Mustafa Rifaat, and performance analyst Hassan Ahmed. The medical team is led by doctor Asmaa El-Demerdash, with physical therapists Alaa Emad and Habiba Mohamed.
This result continues a high-scoring campaign for Al Ahly.
