Two key Tosin Adarabioyo stats show exactly what he is about as he impresses on his Tottenham Premier League debut.

In their clash against Coventry City, Tottenham Hotspur showcased their squad depth as Roberto De Zerbi made five changes to his starting XI.

Coming into the side were Micky van de Ven, Andy Robertson, James Maddison, Tosin Adarabioyo and Omar Marmoush.

Each of these players made a significant impact: Robertson provided the assist for Marmoush’s goal, Maddison scored the opener, while van de Ven and Tosin helped Spurs stay compact at the back.

Tosin Adarabioyo impresses on full Premier League debut for Tottenham

For Tosin Adarabioyo, it was his first Premier League start for Tottenham since joining from Chelsea on deadline day in the summer transfer window.

Although no stranger to Premier League football, with over 100 appearances in the competition, there was no doubt he would have felt some pressure heading into this encounter.

Tosin, however, looked unfazed, delivering a performance he can be proud of.

FotMob handed the former Chelsea defender a 7.3 rating after his 71-minute display against Coventry. While it was the lowest of Spurs’ defenders, Tosin stood out in several areas.

His passing was excellent, with a 91% accuracy rate, and he made five defensive contributions. Importantly, his distribution was progressive, recording 13 line-breaking passes – the second most in the match behind Jan Paul van Hecke – and four passes into the final third.

He also dominated in duels, winning 100% of his ground battles and seven of his eight aerial duels, the most in the game.

Such a display will certainly have earned Tosin credit with the Tottenham faithful.

However, he suffered a setback against Coventry, forced off after receiving treatment in the second half. That makes him a doubt for Spurs’ next Premier League fixture – a trip to his former club Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

De Zerbi, though, was confident afterwards that Tosin will be available, telling the Evening Standard: “No, no, no, I think there are no injuries, nothing important.”
