Bamba Souhalio, 16, rescues ASEC Mimosas in CAF Champions League draw

ASEC Mimosas secured a 1-1 draw away to MAS de Fes in Morocco after 16-year-old Bamba Souhalio scored an added-time equaliser in the first leg of their CAF Champions League 2026-2027 second qualifying round tie.

MAS de Fes took the lead in the 31st minute through Chabani Ayimene, leaving ASEC Mimosas facing defeat for much of the match.

But the Ivorian side found a late response when Souhalio struck in the 91st minute to level the contest and earn ASEC Mimosas an encouraging result on their trip to Morocco.

Souhalio, a former player at the Academie MimoSifcom, rescued the visitors with one of the final opportunities of the match.

The result leaves the two teams level ahead of the second leg, which will be played next Sunday at the Stade Felix-Houphouet-Boigny in Abidjan.

Julien Chevalier’s side must win in front of their home supporters to secure qualification for the group stage.
