Gail Kim criticized a clip of Bandido and Nick Wayne no-selling each other's moves, then spent the night going back and forth with fans: "I don't care what wrestling company anyone works for."
Gail Kim says she hates the no-selling she sees in modern wrestling, and she spent Wednesday night defending that opinion to fans on X.
Kim quote-posted a 30-second clip of Bandido and Nick Wayne trading moves without selling them, shared by a parody account that called it “potentially the best 30 seconds of no selling I’ve ever seen.” The clip came from Bandido’s ROH World Championship defense against Wayne at Death Before Dishonor in August.
“I hate that this is what wrestling has become,” Kim wrote.
When one fan called it the best match they had seen live this year, Kim replied: “Well apparently there is a crowd for this but I’ll say just in responses, you’re in a very small minority. What do you love about it may I ask?”
Another fan accused Kim of sharing out-of-context clips from an account that exists to criticize AEW, which owns ROH.
“I was commenting on the post. I didn’t look at what it was meaning you saying it’s a hate account. And yes today’s wrestling there is a very high probability of no selling. I continued the thoughts after with people having a normal open conversation,” Kim wrote.
When a fan said she would never criticize a WWE clip the same way, Kim pushed back.
“lol sure make assumptions. I don’t care what wrestling company anyone works for. I would look at it as wrestling. Just bc YOU have that mindset, doesn’t mean everyone else does. I have friends and acquaintances in every company. And people end up working everywhere sometimes so no, who they work for doesn’t matter to me,” she wrote.
Kim also responded after another user insulted her career and a fan pointed to her feud with Awesome Kong in TNA.
“These ones who get so worked up over a woman with an opinion. They have to insult instead of just saying their own thoughts. Was he also a wrestler and in the business for over 20 plus years? He just thinks he knows better apparently,” Kim wrote.
Asked who is better known in pop culture, Jake “The Snake” Roberts or Will Ospreay, Kim wrote: “Any wrestler from Jake’s era is more known mainstream. They were global superstars on a different level when legit, EVERYONE watched wrestling! What a time.”
When a fan told her she still knows how to get heat, she wrote, “I always thought I was a good heel too.”
Kim was the first woman inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame in 2016, and she won the WWE Women’s Championship in her first televised WWE match in 2003. She later worked in TNA’s talent relations department until leaving the company in March 2025.
Last year, Kim’s comments about AEW star Riho drew a post from Kenny Omega that fans took as a response to her.
