Coventry City have matched their worst start to a top-flight season after losing to Everton in the opening match of gameweek 10 in the English Premier League.
The defeat was Coventry’s seventh in their first 10 league matches of the season. It is only the third time in the club’s history that they have lost seven or more of their opening 10 league games.
The previous occasions came in 1919/20, when Coventry suffered nine defeats, and 1920/21, when they lost seven. Both seasons were the club’s first two campaigns in the Football League.
Coventry’s next English Premier League fixture is against London club Crystal Palace on 21 November.
They currently sit 16th in the English Premier League table.
