Central Durban Golf Club (CDGC), one of the oldest pioneering clubs in this bustling metropolitan area, has done it again. Fresh from winning the Allerton League in KZN and with interest steadily growing in CDGC, the exco committee, with Mr Soobry Naidu being at the helm as the president, has introduced the ‘Central League’ (under 7.5 HC).

With the Annual Memorial Tournament just around the corner, this vibrant committee has brought new meaning to this tournament. Scheduled for November 29, 2026, it will be held at the daunting new, Ernie Els-endorsed Zimbali Lakes Golf Course. Privileged players will vie for prizes reaching an astounding R30, 000, another first for the CDGC.

The historically famous Papwa Putter, donated by Mr Brijlall Ramguthee, will continue to feature as the floating trophy, now in its 48th year.

Committee members of CDGC, Adrian Thenadu, Deena Gilbert, Julius Naidoo, Kavesh Nunnan, Leslie Moonsamy, Sunny Singh, Tony Pillay, Vinesh Karamchund, and Viresh Ramballey, spearheaded by the president, Soobry Naidu, are gearing up for the 50th jubilee celebrations in just under two years. Specials on new membership fees are also on the cards.
