Karim Adeyemi: 'I have a special connection with Hansi Flick'
Karim Adeyemi: 'I have a special connection with Hansi Flick'

Just two days before his first Clásico, one of the club’s new arrivals this season, Karim Adeyemi, answered questions from Barça fans. In a new Q&A session, where members of the club’s YouTube channel, with the help of Google Gemini, were able to put all type of questions to the Barça man, the German forward said that, as a blaugrana, he is "living the dream."

Keep setting records

All of this comes just two days before welcoming Real Madrid to Spotify Camp Nou. So far, his favorite moment as a Barça player has been "scoring my first goal at home, against Feyenoord... but I hope I'll have an even better one on Sunday."

Beyond the Clásico, this opportunity to connect with Barça fans also allowed supporters to get to know the player a little bit better and find out about his first few months in Barcelona. According to Adeyemi, the main reason behind his move was none other than Hansi Flick.

Hansi Flick signing

"He's the reason why I'm here, and I'm very grateful to him for that. I speak honestly with him, and that's very important. We have a special connection, just as he does with the whole team."
He also recalled the first piece of advice Flick gave him: "That I should enjoy every training session, the atmosphere within the team, Barcelona, the Catalan people... that was the first thing he taught me."

All of this has led to a smooth settling in period. "I feel very comfortable. I enjoy the sunshine, the people... everyone is very kind. I couldn't choose just one thing as the best part. Everything about being here is wonderful. Some of my friends still tell me they can't believe which club I'm playing for. Sometimes I think I'm still dreaming

When asked about his Barça idol, Adeyemi was clear. "Messi was always the best player in the world, and watching him play for this club was incredible," he explained. However, if he had to choose three players to share the pitch with, excluding the Argentine, he would form an attacking line-up featuring: "Iniesta, Neymar, and Ronaldinho."

Adeyemi appeared relaxed and comfortable, even joking that although "Anthony (Gordon) is probably the second-fastest player... I’d definitely beat him." He also said that Xavi Espart has surprised him a lot, and that he loves Switzerland, as well as spending holidays in Albania or Kosovo, in addition to Munich, his hometown.

He also spoke highly of the Spotify Camp Nou: "It’s incredible. It’s not even finished yet and it’s already amazing. When we walk out onto the pitch and the anthem starts playing, it’s spectacular."

4 out of 5 in the Google Gemini test

Finally, with the help of Google Gemini, he took part in a five-question quiz about the Clásico, getting four of them right. Not bad at all for someone who has only been a Barça player for a few months, yet has already won over the supporters. Now, he wants to do the same in the match everyone dreams of playing in: a Clásico.
