What are the most popular Premier League teams in the U.S.? These are the PL clubs most supported by American fans
The Premier League is catching up to the NFL, NBA and MLB as one of the most watched leagues in the U.S. and this club has been crowned the most popular.
Ian Hodgson

Which Primer League club is the biggest in England? That’s not a question I dare to answer. The biggest Primer League club in the United States? Now that, we have an answer to.

Reds land on top

In a survey they was published last year, the brilliant minds behind Men In Blazers asked and the nation answered. Liverpool was voted the most popular club in the United States getting 22% of the votes to lead all English clubs and stake claim as America’s club.

Behind the Merseyside club came Arsenal with 16%. The reigning Premier League champions edged Chelsea who came in third with 13% and Manchester United finished fourth in the poll with 7% of the votes. Surprisingly enough Manchester City, who has been the winningest English side over the last decade had just 3% of the votes, which was level with Fulham and Crystal Palace.

Men In Blazers are the biggest social media soccer pundits in the U.S. and just about everyone who is a soccer fan, is a fan and follower of the “MiB.” The survey was done in February of this year, but the percentages wouldn’t sway that drastically in a matter of months. Liverpool are still the top dogs in the US, despite losing one of their biggest stars and firing manger Arne Slot in that time.

From Fenway to Anfield

Liverpool has a deep heritage in the States, and that came way before the Fenway Sports Group took the club over in 2010. The fact that they are an American owned club certainly doesn’t hurt their case. In fact, American ownershiponly amplifies the fandom due to sponsorship deals, preseason tours and jersey sales that continue to grow throughout the country.

The Premier League has been gaining ground on the “big four” leagues in the United States for decades now. Ever since NBC acquired the rights to broadcast England’s top division the league has exploded in popularity throughout the country. Waking up on Saturday and Sunday mornings to watch the biggest matches in the Premier League has become a routine for millions of Americans.

The Reds are historically the most successful club in England. They have a record 47 major titles which could explain their popularity in America. Twenty of those titles have come since the turn of the century, including two Premier League titles and two Champions League titles. The titles, preseason tours, the constant presence in the league and European title fights is one of the main reasons that Liverpool have climbed to the top of the Premier League mountain in the United States.
