Former Argentina international Carlos Tevez has offered an insight into the contrasting personalities of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, highlighting what he believes sets the two football greats apart.
Tevez, who played alongside Ronaldo at Manchester United and Messi with Argentina, described the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner as a player whose confidence and understanding of the game often appeared effortless.
According to the former striker, Messi sometimes predicted the outcome of matches with remarkable certainty, even suggesting the number of goals his team would score and then delivering exactly as he had indicated.
Tevez recalled occasions when the Inter Miami forward appeared relaxed and uninterested in playing, yet could still take control of a match whenever he chose.
He contrasted that with Ronaldo’s approach, describing the Portuguese star as a player who relied heavily on discipline, preparation and hard work to maintain his exceptional standards.
Ronaldo, who played with Tevez at Manchester United between 2007 and 2009, was known for his demanding training routine and determination to improve.
