Barcelona Seeks Momentum in Munich After Milan Win

The Catalan side arrives in Munich holding a 4-3 record in the ninth position of the EuroLeague standings. Head coach Joan Peñarroya’s squad secured a hard-fought victory at the Mediolanum Forum in Milan behind a balanced team effort, before returning to domestic play to defeat Casademont Zaragoza 99-81 in the Liga Endesa. In that domestic fixture, guard Juan Núñez delivered his finest performance in Spain’s top flight, scoring 23 points.

The team’s balanced roster has found ways to win despite a demanding schedule across both domestic and European competitions.

On the opposing side, FC Bayern Munich occupies sixteenth place in the EuroLeague table with a 2-5 record. The German club enters the matchup on a two-game losing skid in Europe, highlighted by a 91-107 home defeat against Dubai-based competition at the SAP Garden, where the team is still searching for its first victory in the arena this season.

Bayern’s roster features several familiar faces with extensive experience in Spanish basketball. Guards Justinian Jessup, Rokas Jokubaitis, Kamar Baldwin, and forward Oscar da Silva all previously featured in Spain. They join veterans Andreas Obst, Johannes Voigtmann, and Johannes Thiemann, under the leadership of former Partizan guard Duane Washington.
