FC AshantiGold 04 head coach Abdul Karim Zito has expressed satisfaction with his side’s 1-1 draw against Asante Kotoko in their week 8 fixture of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
Samuel Fosu Boateng put the homesters ahead in the 41st minute with a long-range effort that took a deflection before Patrick Asiedu equalised for Kotoko with a powerful free-kick in the 62nd minute.
The experienced gaffer admitted that Kotoko’s goalkeeper Haruna Dari played a key role in keeping the score level.
“We had a lot of opportunities, but their goalkeeper was at his best. In the first half we took it, and in the second half we shared it,” Zito said after the match.
The former Kotoko player and coach acknowledged that both teams had their moments, believing the final score reflected the balance of the contest.
“We created opportunities, and they also had their opportunities. At the end of the day, the 1-1 signifies what happened. At the end of the day, I’m very happy we didn’t lose,” he added.
FC AshantiGold 04 will now turn their attention to their next league clash against Basake Holy Stars.
