Tottenham seal derby victory as Chelsea suffer late setback

Tottenham Hotspur secured a 2-0 victory over Chelsea in the eighth round of the Premier League, with two late goals lifting the hosts to 12th in the table.

The match remained goalless throughout the first half, and neither side could break the deadlock for much of the second period. Tottenham finally took the lead in the 77th minute when Chelsea defender Mike Penders scored an own goal.

Chelsea’s task became more difficult three minutes later when Cole Palmer was shown a red card in the 80th minute, leaving his side to finish the match with 10 players.

Tottenham took advantage of the numerical advantage and added a second goal in the 87th minute. Mathys Tel found the net to secure the victory for the hosts.

Chelsea remain fourth in the Premier League despite the defeat, with 13 points from eight matches. Tottenham have nine points and occupy 12th place.
