Here are interviews and announcements from this week that we haven’t covered yet, including Kevin Knight’s message to the Young Bucks before WrestleDream, Roman Reigns on acting in Street Fighter, Kalisto on a possible WWE return and MLW’s first pay-per-view main event.
Kevin Knight and Kyle Fletcher challenge the Young Bucks for the AEW World Tag Team Championship at WrestleDream on Saturday in Orlando. Knight told TMZ’s Inside The Ring that the champions’ run is ending.
“The message is clear. If you watched Collision this past Saturday, we jumped them and let them know our intentions are clear. We’re coming for that tag team gold, and Kyle and I are on the same page, so we’re dangerous as ever,” Knight said. “The Young Bucks’ time is up.”
“They’ve had their time at the top. They were four-time champions. Young Bucks, more like old bucks, right?” he added.
Knight also responded to Tony Khan naming him among AEW’s future pillars. “Mercedes was a big name coming from the title scene, and Kyle has been grinding the last two or three years on TV. Me, I feel like I just got here. So for him to mention me among those names means a lot,” he said.
He said he wants another shot at TNT Champion Darby Allin. “Darby Allin can get this any day of the week — 24/7, 365, 366 on a leap year,” Knight said. “Our first match in the Continental Classic last year — where did he go? Straight to the hospital, right? Fresh off Mount Everest, and who sent him to the hospital? Me.”
On MJF, Knight said: “He thinks he’s the best professional wrestler in the world, which is subjective. He lives in his own head, and I think that’s his biggest problem.”
Roman Reigns, who plays Akuma in Street Fighter, joined castmates 50 Cent, Noah Centineo, Andrew Koji and Callina Liang for a Front Row special with Sam Roberts on WWE Radio on SiriusXM. The movie opens in theaters today, and the full show is on the SiriusXM app.
Reigns said he treated his scenes like a main event. “My main contributions were in the third act. So it’s in the main event of the movie is what I was telling myself. And that’s what I practice, is main event performance. That’s my bag,” he said. “These guys know what they’re doing. I’m not a real actor. I go out and I wrestle.”
Asked how a movie set compares to a WWE locker room, Reigns said: “There’s plenty of dudes in the locker room that are running around thinking they’re Roman Reigns, you know, thinking they’re of my level. It’s crazy. It’s just ridiculous. Like, look in the mirror and look at all your stuff, everything that comes with life. Look at your bank account. All the stuff. We’re not the same, you know what I mean?”

50 Cent also told the story of accidentally punching Centineo while rehearsing a fight scene. “I thought I was getting sued. When he said, ‘Oh,’ I was like, ‘Oh, s***,'” he said.
Two-time WWE United States Champion Kalisto, who now wrestles as Samuray del Sol, told TMZ’s Inside The Ring that he has thought about returning to WWE while he rehabs a knee injury.
“I think about it, I think about it too. But also, I love giving so much back,” he said. “But for now, let me see where my knee takes me. I’m kind of all ears right now.”
“I have an ACL and meniscus tear right now. I’m in my seventh month. I’m doing good and progressing,” he added. “I want to come back in the ring.”
He also said he trained with Penta and Rey Fenix in Mexico before they became stars, and wishes the Lucha Dragons had faced the Lucha Brothers. “The Lucha Dragons and the Lucha Brothers never happened, and I wish it would have. Maybe one day we can see each other,” he said.
In a separate three-hour interview on The Wednesday Hang with David Otunga, del Sol said his torn ACL happened during a match in India, where he is rehabbing with an artificial ACL. He also credited John Cena for helping the 205 Live roster. “He was the only one at Gorilla watching all of us,” del Sol said. “And he didn’t just help one person.”
He said he once spent “like two and a half months” in the ER, and that at one point he had his “mindset already set that I was going to retire.”
We wish Kalisto a full recovery.
Maria Kanellis told Insight with Chris Van Vliet that she could still wrestle on a big show, but not full time.
“In wrestling, you never know. I haven’t closed the door, but it’s not always up to the person,” she said. “Wrestling probably not, unless it’s like the Royal Rumble or another Evolution pay-per-view or something like that. But consistently wrestling? Probably not.”
She said the biggest misconception about the Divas era is that the women didn’t care about wrestling. “We cared deeply. We wanted more time. We wanted better stories. We wanted to be taken seriously. We were fighting backstage. We were fighting to not have to do a bikini competition,” she said.
Sal Corrente told Wrestling Epicenter host James Walsh how he finished the updated version of Bruno Sammartino’s autobiography, which now runs 568 pages and is available on Amazon. Corrente said Sammartino’s widow, Carol, told him at the wake that he needed to finish it.
“She said, ‘Well, I think you need to finish the book, don’t you?’ I said, ‘Well, yeah, but I just, you know, no, you need to finish the book,'” Corrente said.
Corrente, a former referee, also said Sammartino was the only champion he knows of who made a promoter take the title off him. “There is no other wrestler in this country that I’m aware of that forced the promoter to take the belt off of him,” he said.
He also said Greg Gagne initially told him the AWA couldn’t use him as a referee until Nick Bockwinkel told Gagne, “I’m telling you you got the wrong guy.”
MLW World Heavyweight Champion Killer Kross will defend against Josh Bishop in a Last Man Standing match at Saturday Night SuperFight on Saturday, November 7, at Cicero Stadium in Chicago. The show is MLW’s first pay-per-view since 2019 and airs live on VEEPS. MLW says the event is sold out.
Bishop pinned Kross in a New York City Street Fight, teaming with Donovan Dijak against Kross and Matt Riddle. MLW said it was the first time Kross had been pinned in an MLW ring in four years.
MLW also announced that MLW Fusion is now available to buy on Amazon Prime Video, at $26.99 for a full season or $1.99 per episode. “MLW belongs on the biggest platforms, and Amazon Prime Video is another significant step in that direction,” MLW founder and CEO Court Bauer said. New episodes of Fusion still premiere Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET for free on Tubi.
UFC Hall of Famer and two-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion Dan Severn will launch a weekly show, Ben & The Beast, in November on the Official Dan Severn YouTube channel. Severn will co-host with Ben Veal of Wrestling Life Online, who co-wrote Marc Mero’s autobiography. The show will cover Severn’s amateur, UFC and WWF careers, with guests planned for the first season.
