Candy Soccer Ladies will mark their return to the Malta Guinness Women's Premier League by hosting Dreamz Ladies in their opening Northern Zone fixture at Nana Agyemang Badu I Park in Dormaa.

The club is starting a new chapter after relegation in the 2022/2023 season and will be aiming to make an immediate impression in front of their home supporters.

Their first opponents, Dreamz Ladies, finished fourth in the Northern Zone last season. The visitors’ experience at this level could prove important as they seek to improve on that finish and open the campaign with a positive result.

Northern Ladies face champions Ampem Darkoa

Northern Ladies FC have been handed a difficult start to their 2026/27 Women's Premier League campaign, with defending champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies visiting the Jinapor Astro Turf.

Ampem Darkoa will begin the season as the side to beat after topping the 2025/26 Northern Zone standings with 37 points from 18 matches.

Northern Ladies will hope home advantage can help them begin strongly after an inconsistent 2025/26 campaign.

Fosu Royal Ladies host Ashanti Ladies

Fosu Royal Ladies welcome Ashanti Ladies to Ohene Ameyaw Park in Techiman.

The hosts finished among the top four last season and will be targeting further progress, while debutants Ashanti Ladies have used the transfer window to strengthen their squad ahead of their first campaign.

Supreme Ladies meet FC Savannah

Supreme Ladies, who have returned to the Premier League, will be looking to build on an impressive qualification run when they face FC Savannah.

FC Savannah, meanwhile, will draw confidence from their encouraging display in the Women's Premier Super Cup as they seek a positive opening to the new season.

Tamale Super Ladies renew Prisons rivalry

Tamale Super Ladies begin their 2026/27 campaign against Prisons Ladies at the Yendi Youth Resource Centre on Sunday.

Super Ladies secured victory over Prisons Ladies on the final matchday last season. That result was regarded as a surprise, given the difficulties Northern clubs have traditionally faced when playing Prisons Ladies.

Tamale Super Ladies head coach Haruna Najimudeen is confident his team can claim another victory, although Prisons Ladies go into the contest as favourites after a strong off-season preparation.

The fixtures are part of the opening round of matches in the Northern Zone of the Malta Guinness Women's Premier League.
