German-Ghanaian defender Hendry Blank endured a difficult evening after receiving a red card as SpVgg Greuther Furth suffered a 3-0 defeat to SG Dynamo Dresden in the German 2. Bundesliga.
Blank was booked within the opening minute after catching Vincent Vermeij in the face with a high challenge, setting the tone for a frustrating outing for the defender.
Dynamo Dresden took the lead in the 31st minute through Robert Wagner, whose effort took a deflection off Blank before finding the back of the net.
The defender was again unfortunate in the 41st minute when Ben Bobzien’s shot deflected off him and beat goalkeeper Florian Hellstern to double the hosts’ advantage.
Vermeij extended Dresden’s lead five minutes after the restart, finishing from close range following an assist from Bobzien.
Blank’s difficult evening worsened in the 62nd minute when he received a second yellow card for a tactical foul on Bobzien, leaving Fürth to finish the contest with ten men.
Dresden comfortably protected their advantage to secure all three points at Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion.
Blank has made eight appearances for Greuther Furth this season, with no goals or assists.
