Athletic Bilbao have reportedly set a €90m price valuation for Spain international of Ghanaian descent Nico Williams amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
The Ligue 1 champions are among the clubs monitoring the 24-year-old attacker as they assess potential reinforcements for their attacking department.
However, Athletic Club are determined to retain their prized asset and are unwilling to reduce the approximately €90 million release clause included in his current contract.
Williams committed his long-term future to Athletic in July 2025, signing a contract extension that will keep him at the Basque outfit until June 2035.
The new agreement significantly strengthened Athletic's negotiating position, with his release clause increasing from approximately €58 million to €90 million.
With the player tied to a lengthy contract, the Bilbao-based club have little incentive to entertain offers below the stipulated amount, leaving interested clubs facing a potentially expensive transfer operation.
PSG are not the only European heavyweight keeping an eye on the Spanish international, with Premier League side Arsenal and La Liga giants Barcelona also previously linked with a move for his services.
Meanwhile, Williams has recently returned to action after recovering from a muscle injury sustained while on international duty with Spain in September.
The winger featured in Athletic's emphatic 4-0 victory over Getafe on October 25 before providing an assist for his brother Iñaki Williams in their 2-1 derby triumph over Real Sociedad on November 1.
His recent performances have further highlighted his importance to Athletic, with his pace, dribbling ability and attacking creativity making him one of the club's most valuable players.
Despite the renewed transfer speculation, Williams remains under contract until 2035, and any club hoping to secure his signature may have to meet Athletic's €90 million valuation.
