There was a contrast of fortunes on day two of the Buick LPGA Shanghai as Ireland's Leona Maguire moved inside the top ten in tough conditions, but Lauren Walsh came crashing down the leaderboard.
Solheim Cup star Maguire opened with a 71 on Thursday and followed up with a Friday 73 (one-over-par) despite conditions forcing high scores where just six of the 80-player field shot under-par rounds.
Starting on the first tee, the Cavan golfer carded birdies at the fourth and eighth holes to make the turn in two-under-par, 34. However that was as good as it got for Maguire, with a bogey on 14 compounded with a double on 15 for an over-par round.
She sits in a tie for tenth place on level-par, six shots back of overnight leader Hye-Jin Choi, who is nearing the end of her second round.
Walsh however made a move in the opposite direction. Despite an impressive bogey-free first round on Thursday where she shot two-under-par, the 26-year-old followed it up with a round of 10-over par 82, to drop back to a tie for 56th place.
