GPL: Ahiable’s 95th-Minute Strike Rescues Dreams FC Against Port City FC.

Kelvin Ahiable scored deep into stoppage time to rescue a point for bottom-placed Dreams FC in a dramatic 1-1 draw against Portugal City FC in their Ghana Premier League Matchday 7 encounter.

Port City looked set to claim all three points after Alex Boateng broke the deadlock in the 47th minute, sending the home supporters into celebration just two minutes after the restart.

Dreams FC, however, refused to surrender despite their struggles at the foot of the table. Desperate to secure their first win of the campaign, the visitors showed resilience and determined to leave Port City empty-handed as the match entered its closing stages.

With defeat looming, Dreams FC threw men forward in search of an equaliser, and their persistence paid off in the 95th minute when Ahiable found the net to snatch a dramatic point for the visitors.

The result takes Port City FC to 11 points from seven matches, keeping them firmly in the top four, while Dreams FC remain rooted to the bottom of the standings with three points. Although still searching for their first victory, Dreams will take encouragement from a determined performance that came agonisingly close to delivering a major breakthrough in their campaign.
[18/10, 17:17] Natty: # Agyenim Boateng Strikes Late as Samartex Stun Medeama to Join Them at the Summit

FC Samartex 1996 snatched a dramatic 2-1 victory over Ghana Premier League leaders Medeama SC at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena, with Christian Agyenim Boateng scoring a stoppage time winner to seal a memorable triumph for the Timber Giants.

The two sides battled to a goalless first half, with neither able to find the breakthrough in a tightly contested opening 45 minutes. However, the hosts returned from the interval with renewed determination and took the lead in the 56th minute through Josuah Fusieni, who powered home to ignite celebrations among the home supporters.

Medeama responded by increasing the pressure in search of an equaliser, testing Samartex’s defensive resolve as the contest progressed. Their persistence eventually paid off in the 79th minute when Dominic Amponsah found space inside the penalty area and calmly finished to restore parity and set up a tense finale.

With the match seemingly heading towards a draw, Samartex delivered the decisive blow in the 93rd minute. Christian Agyenim Boateng capitalised on an opportunity to find the net, sending the home crowd into wild celebrations and handing the Timber Giants all three points in a thrilling finish.

The victory takes Samartex to 14 points after seven matches, drawing them level with Medeama at the top of the Ghana Premier League standings. The result also deals a significant blow to Medeama’s hopes of maintaining their advantage at the summit, while underlining Samartex’s growing credentials as genuine contenders in the early stages of the campaign.
